Poor Puppies!

We FINALLY got Scooter and Bode neutered!  I took them to the vet on Wednesday.  Bode was excited.  He knew the people and the place he was at, while Scooter was shaking and staying very close to me. He didn't like it when they had to leave me and go through the door!  They had to stay over night and I picked them up the next morning.  Everything went great.  Bode does have elevated liver levels and will have to go back in 3 weeks.  They said this is due to the antibiotics that he is still on!  Kris and I have had some good laughs watching them in their cone helmets!  We can take them off when we are home as long as they are not licking!  They were home for over 8 hours alone Friday, and to our surprise, the helmets were still on when we got home!  They are doing great an we are glad that is done!

September Rain!

Well, we finally got some rain.  It came at the perfect time for Kris.  They were already closed during the week, so as the rain came almost everyday during the week, we enjoyed it!  The news said parts of New Braunfels received 5 inches in one day!  And yes, the roads here do flood!  Several roads around my work were closed.  Our road was fine!  Kris took some pictures of the rain for me since I was at work!  Needless to say, things are greening up here, now that it is almost fall!  Like our river in the backyard?!?!  Luckily, our rocks didn't move!

Poor Bode!

I took Bode to the vet again last week.  He has continued to lick his paws and is losing his fur.  This time they gave him another shot which seemed to help the first time I took him in.  When we got home, I started cleaning house and noticed that Daisy and Scooter were following me around, but there was no sign of Bode.  I went in our bedroom and found him.  He had crawled into his cage and fell asleep.  You know he is in a deep sleep when he is on his back!  In the pictures, you can see his bare paws!  He is cuddling with his hedge hog that Daisy has removed all of the stuffing!  He is doing much better now.  Some of his fur is growing back, but he will be on antibiotics for a while.  He is also on a diet trial.  He can only have the "special" (and expensive) dog food.  No treats....unless it is hypoallergenic.  They did say we could give him fresh green beans or fresh carrots.  Needless to say, none of our dogs like green beans, and Daisy was the only one who would eat the carrots!  So, I have had a fun time trying to keep Bode out of Scooter's and Daisy's food, and at the same time, trying to keep them out of Bode's food!
