Since we haven't really seen much rain here, we take all the pictures we can when it does rain! This past weekend was the closest we have seen to it flooding here. We don't have a rain gauge yet, so I don't have a definite amount, but I would guess we got between 5-7 inches Sunday! A lot of the roads were flooded. Kris had to drive me to work because I was a little nervous! I didn't get to take any pictures of the rivers, but I did get some of the river in our backyard!!

More Pictures of Rain!

Update
Kris and Manu Ginobili
Kris and I have been pretty busy. Kris is now in the slow season. We have been to the lake with my family the first weekend off, and then we both worked the following weekend unfortunately! We are going to Port Aransas on Friday for a few days. Then back to the lake, and then wrapping up the month with a trip to South Padre! It is nice to have Kris available now!
Kris got to play in the Spurs Golf Tournament on Monday. He got to meet a lot of the player and Coach Pop. Needless to say, his team tried hard, but came in last! But, on the bright side, they won front row tickets to a couple of Spurs games! That is right, we will be on the front row for our anniversary! Luckily for Kris, I enjoy watching the Spurs!
We are still battling with Bode's paws. He is now on 2 more antibiotics and a special shampoo. Poor guy, he little paws look horrible! He has been a little attached to me here recently. Kris said he has been crying when I leave for work!
I will be changing jobs at the end of the month. On the first, I turned in my 30 resignation. I am very excited about the new building I will be working at. I will start full time in San Marcos at the building I was doing PRN work. My boss there is amazing and actually makes you enjoy your job. My current job is just not the right fit for me at this time. Hopefully it will be a great change for me!

Poor Puppies!
We FINALLY got Scooter and Bode neutered! I took them to the vet on Wednesday. Bode was excited. He knew the people and the place he was at, while Scooter was shaking and staying very close to me. He didn't like it when they had to leave me and go through the door! They had to stay over night and I picked them up the next morning. Everything went great. Bode does have elevated liver levels and will have to go back in 3 weeks. They said this is due to the antibiotics that he is still on! Kris and I have had some good laughs watching them in their cone helmets! We can take them off when we are home as long as they are not licking! They were home for over 8 hours alone Friday, and to our surprise, the helmets were still on when we got home! They are doing great an we are glad that is done!
September Rain!
Well, we finally got some rain. It came at the perfect time for Kris. They were already closed during the week, so as the rain came almost everyday during the week, we enjoyed it! The news said parts of New Braunfels received 5 inches in one day! And yes, the roads here do flood! Several roads around my work were closed. Our road was fine! Kris took some pictures of the rain for me since I was at work! Needless to say, things are greening up here, now that it is almost fall! Like our river in the backyard?!?! Luckily, our rocks didn't move!

Poor Bode!
I took Bode to the vet again last week. He has continued to lick his paws and is losing his fur. This time they gave him another shot which seemed to help the first time I took him in. When we got home, I started cleaning house and noticed that Daisy and Scooter were following me around, but there was no sign of Bode. I went in our bedroom and found him. He had crawled into his cage and fell asleep. You know he is in a deep sleep when he is on his back! In the pictures, you can see his bare paws! He is cuddling with his hedge hog that Daisy has removed all of the stuffing! He is doing much better now. Some of his fur is growing back, but he will be on antibiotics for a while. He is also on a diet trial. He can only have the "special" (and expensive) dog food. No treats....unless it is hypoallergenic. They did say we could give him fresh green beans or fresh carrots. Needless to say, none of our dogs like green beans, and Daisy was the only one who would eat the carrots! So, I have had a fun time trying to keep Bode out of Scooter's and Daisy's food, and at the same time, trying to keep them out of Bode's food!

The past few weeks have been quick for me! I finally have a glimpse at what Kris goes through, minus the heat! I have been working at a new building in San Marcos 6 days a week. I have been trying to get there by 7 in the mornings and put in a couple of hours there, then head back to NB to work at Eden Home. I am quickly finding out that I was made for 40 hours! My body is tired and there are not enough hours in the day to get everything done! I actually got home later than Kris did the other night....mainly because they are closing at 6 now! In fact, after today, they are only open on weekends! This summer has gone by so fast! We went to the end of summer dinner for Kris the other night. He had to get up in front of everyone and talk. He was a bit nervous, but did a good job. I was proud of everything that I heard about him. It sounds like he did a great job this summer! It will be nice to have my husband at home finally...if I am here! I hope everyone is having a great summer. We received some rain last night, but I'm not sure how much. I need to get a rain gauge! Well, I need to clean house. Have a great week!

Summer is Flying By!
Kris and I have been very busy. Well, Kris has been, I just like to think that I am! I can't believe it is almost August! Kris has had a really good summer so far. He is loving his job! This summer is much better for him than last. I would say he fits his job perfectly! And luckily for them, it is super hot this year! We haven't receive hardly any rain!!! We are looking really bad! My poor flowers and grass! The rivers are really low, which sends people to Kris! My work is keeping me busy. We always have something new! Bode is still on antibiotics. His feet look much better now! He and Scooter got their hair cut today...so Daisy went with me to work. Our gym may be covered in white hair, but my older people absolutely love her! They were begging for her to come back tomorrow. Needless to say she didn't have a nap all day and is knocked out now! Hope all is well! Come see us!

Bode Drama!
I had to take Bode in to the vet on Saturday because he has been licking his paws, to the point that there is no longer any fur! Thursday night, his little paws were red and swollen, so I made an appointment. It turns out that the has a yeast infection in all four paws, and bilateral ear infections! He must have a high tolerance for pain because the vet said she couldn't even get her tool down in his ear! He hadn't whined or even shook his head like he should have with ear infections. He got a big shot in his hip and is now on 2 different ear drops and 2 antibiotics. I have to wait until the infections have cleared to get his shots up to date! His breed is known to have allergies and we moved him to the allergy country! The vet said dogs allergies flare up in their ears and feet! He is acting completely normal...chasing his ball and fighting with Scooter and Daisy. So hopefully in 2 weeks, everything is back to normal for Bode!

At the Lake
Kris had a very busy Memorial Weekend, so Daisy and I joined my family at the lake. Daisy seemed to enjoy herself. I was surprised to see her jump in the water! We took her to a beach area and she had a blast. She didn't like it too much for me to be in the water, but she didn't mind chasing a ball. My niece and nephew had a great time playing in the sand! Then it started raining...and it was cold! Overall, we had a great time. It was nice seeing everyone again. I came home Sunday because I had to work on Monday. Luckily Kris was able to catch up on some of his sleep on Monday! He said his weekend went smoothly! I was glad to be back at home with him though! I think Scooter and Body missed me! Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!

Raining Finally!
It is raining outside finally! We received some good rain a few weeks ago, but we are still pretty dry! I left the gym a few minutes ago and was able to beat the storm home by like 5 minutes! I just hope people are escaping to the concession stands!
I took Daisy with me to work the other day while Scooter and Bode got groomed. Daisy was a big hit! My little older people loved her. She would just walk up to them and let them rub all over her! Then when she was tired, she would lay down on our mat. I'm sure this will become a regular trip with the boys get their hair done!

Look at these...
...Beautiful Flowers!!!!
Kris surprised me with the beautiful flowers the other day at work. If you didn't know, April is Occupational Therapy Month. So, my wonderful husband sent me this bouquet! It smelled up the entire OT gym and into the halls! Needless to say, he made a great impression on all of the girls that I work with! I think it was pretty good of him to remember OT month! Because I don't get flowers very often, I have taken like 100 pictures! They still smell sooooo good! I know he is very busy dealing with his summer season and now the Swine Flu, so it made my day that he thought of me! I just love the colors! Great job Kris!!!

First Visitors!
We had our first visitors of the summer last weekend! Alisha and Dustin blessed us with a visit! We had a great time with them! It has been a while since we have seen each other, so it was a good time catching up. We all got to relax some and share a few laughs! I hope yall are feeling better!
Our block is filling up quickly. For those of you who haven't been here in a while, things will look different! We now have neighbors on one side and will have one on the other by the end of the summer. Just a year ago there was only 5 houses, now there is close to 18! Crazy how fast these houses go up! Well, I hope everyone is having a great week. Talk to you soon!

Fast Tracks!
Things around our house have been very busy. As many of you know, Kris's busy season is about to start...Saturday! The park opens a week later and he is very excited! It is nice to see how much he enjoys his job! I know the summer will fly by for him. I am sure he is glad to have his first season behind him! We are looking forward to what is to come!
I have been pretty busy at work. We are making a few changes that will take a while to get use to, but that happens with every job! I am looking forward to having company again at our house! That helps my summer fly by! I have been walking with one of my friends, and we were brave enough one night to take Daisy with us. She loved it! I was shocked at how well she did. My friend then wanted to try Bode. We couldn't stop laughing at how fast his tiny legs could move! Scooter hasn't participated in our exercises yet, because I know how many stops we would have to make! Eventually he can go.
Overall, things are going great for Kris and me. We are looking forward to the summer! Come and see us!

Animal Update
A year ago today, our house was broken in at Lubbock. Luckily, our dogs have finally made a full recovery! I think Bode was over it in just a few weeks. Yet, Scooter and Daisy were still defensive for a few months after it happened. Needless to say, I'm sure we could use Daisy to identify who did it! Now Scooter isn't as protective as he was towards me when men with dark hair are around. I hope they have forgotten it! Now our dogs are just as rotten as ever! I think Bode would just prefer to stay outside all day and sun bathe. Daisy used to want outside, but now it is getting warm and too hot for her. Scooter pretty much follows me everywhere I go! Kujo....well, he does his own thing and likes to meow loudly in the middle of the night! They do keep us entertained!

Nice Weather!
This weekend Kris and I worked in the yard. The weather has been nice, just a little windy (but no dirt!). We bought new trees for the backyard along the back fence. We also bought new plants for our pots at our entry. I'm not sure what they are, but they have yellow flowers that look like daisies. I am ready for the yard to turn green again! This week we are expecting the temperature to be in the 80's! We now need rain!
I have started a prn (on-call) job at a nursing home in San Marcos. It is a nice nursing home that reminds me of one in Denver City. I figured this would help keep me entertained while Kris is working this summer!

One Year Ago Today...
...Kris moved to New Braunfels. I can't believe how the time has gone by. Kris has now been living here for a year! In two days, he will be working for Schlitterbahn for a year also! At this time last year, I was still living in Lubbock with the fear of not knowing how soon I would be moving. Little did I know, the following morning, I would have a job offer and plans to join my husband the following week. Kris has experienced a lot this past year! He has traveled with his job to parts of the US he hasn't seen, gone to a NBA play-off game, experienced the men's final four, went to a hockey game, saw a NFL game, bought our first home and new car, and topped the year off with a promotion....this all thanks to him getting a job at Schlitterbahn! I will say, it has been a good year!

Promoted!
As Kris returned to work on Monday from our visit back in Lubbock, he received some big news. He has been promoted to the Food and Beverage Director (the top position in F & B). He has jumped up two positions since February! It was a quick year for him, and now I'm sure it will even be quicker next year. This is a position he thought he would eventually get, after a few years of experience, and he is stoked!. He is currently the youngest director at Schlitterbahn. Everyone seems to be very excited for him! He seems to be the perfect fit at Schlitterbahn. I am very excited for him and am looking forward to what this year will bring!
